–         Faults Naming Of Imo Road After Ganduje

A group known as Coalition of Imo Patriots,COIP has taken a swipe at Basil Maduka, who was a governorship aspirant on the platform of Labour Party in 2023 for saying that Imo people should join hands with Governor Uzodinma for the overall development of the state. The group described the statement as psychopantic and out of place.

They expressed disappointment that Maduka, could  ask Imo people to join hands with Uzodinma for whatever reason without condemning the incessant killings in the state, the unlawful arrest and detention of critics of the state government, the alleged dislocation all organs of government that has resulted in inept and purposeless governance, among several other vices that have plagued the state since the emergence of the current administration.

The group led by Comrade Chisom Anyanwu, in a release it issued, yesterday further said, “we are surprised at the current development that has given credence to insinuations in several quarters that even as a member of Labour Party, Basil Maduka was a mole planted in LP to derail it’s focus. It is also possible that he was planted in the party by to destabilize the party for the actualization of a hidden agenda.”

Continuing, the group affirmed that, “it will no longer be business as usual because, come 2027, we will screen all aspirants and contestants to identify the contenders and the pretenders who will be sponsored to infiltrate reputable political parties to cause confusion.  We already have it on good authority that some desperate self serving politicians who have price tags are most times paid to infiltrate some formidable political parties to destabilize them, while at the same time pretending to be genuine party members.

“We also condemn in its entirety the naming of a road in the state after a former Governor of kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who we challenge to tell people what he achieved and the legacy he left after 8 years in office as  Governor.”

They also recalled that Ganduje, was some time ago referred to as (Gandollars) when the picture of where he was sharing dollars went viral.

They wondered what Gov Uzodinma wants the youths to learn from bestowing such honour on a man with such record.

“The name Ganduje no longer elicits respect, honour and dignity considering the APC Chieftain’s alleged inclination to shady deals. They called on Gov Uzodinma to stop using the naming of projects in the state to seek favour and political benefits.
