–      Says:Desperate Politicians Thriving In Falsehood

The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has debunked reports on social media that the Supreme Court on Tuesday, February, 18, 2025, denied a Stay of Execution Order he allegedly sought.

Anyanwu, in a rejoinder issued by his Special Adviser (Media) Ikenna Onuoha (PhD), said, “the public is enjoined to disregard misleading reports on social media claiming that the Supreme Court today, Tuesday 18, 2025 purportedly denied Senator Samuel Anyanwu a Stay of Execution Order he allegedly sought for.

This is another fake news from desperate politicians thriving on falsehood. The idea behind this disjointed, petty and childish story without substance is simply to create confusion and plant a diversionary mindset in PDP members.

For the avoidance of doubt, the issue of Stay of Execution was never discussed during today’s court proceeding. What was discussed was a prayer for an accelerated hearing of Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s appeal at the Supreme Court which the Honourable Court granted and adjournment further hearing to March 10, 2025.

Therefore, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on January 13, 2025 in Motion No: CA/E/01M/2025 in Appeal No: CA/E/01/2025 granted a Stay of Execution of the December 20, 2024 Appeal Court judgment in Enugu, and this verifiable. By that, it became clearer to even the doubting Thomases that Senator Samuel Anyanwu remains the authentic, undeniable and irrevocable National Secretary of PDP. This matter ended at this point.

Therefore, any fake and misleading reports contrary to what is stated above is indeed an orchestrated ploy by “meddlesome Interlopers” to blackmail the court which carries serious sanction”.
