Niger Delta Youths have warned the people of Owerri zone to guide their loins and be at alert against political manipulators whose obsessive political ambitions may deprive the zone opportunity to produce the next Governor of the state, come 2027.
The President General of the Owerri Zone Youth Niger Delta Forum (OZYNDF) Hon Okereke Godson Bishop who stated this, noted that “Owerri zone is at the verge of being manipulated by political enemies ¹. He emphasized that Governor Hope Uzodimma is committed to delivering democracy to the people of Imo State, and any premature political ambitions will be counterproductive.
He urged all political groups in Owerri zone to avoid all forms of hostility and work collectively to achieve desired objective in the 2027 election.
The group said, the shared Prosperity administration in the state will not tolerate distractions that may frustrate or thwart the administrations noble objectives.
“The group is advocating for a unified front, emphasizing that the Owerri Zone’s chances of producing the next governor will be strengthened through collective strategizing and humility. They cautioned against unnecessary noise-making, urging instead for a focused approach to achieving their goals.
The Niger Delta Youth has declared that they are battle-ready and will not tolerate any further distractions. They emphasized the importance of being forewarned and forearmed, as they prepare for the 2027 gubernatorial election.
This warning comes amidst speculations that Governor Uzodimma may favor the Owerri Zone as the preferred zone to produce his successor in the 2027 election The Owerri Zone has been marginalized in Imo State politics since 1999, and the Niger Delta Youth is determined to ensure that the zone’s collective ambition is realized come 2027”.
