– Commended For Contributions To Members’ Welfare
The National Treasurer of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) Comrade (Sir) Uchenna Nwokeji, over the weekend visited the National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Joe Ajaero in his Emekuku, Owerri North Local Government Area, Imo State country home.
Nwokeji, who was recently elected as the National Treasurer of SSANU, is also the President of the prestigious Owerri Sports Club.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Nwokeji told Ajaero that he came to express his solidarity to him as a performing leader adding that Imo State is privileged to have the opportunity of producing a capable and result-oriented President of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC him.
Responding, Comrade Ajaero, said, he is impressed with Nwokeji’s upward mobility in leadership and trade unionism, adding that it is gladdening to have capable people like him who will take over the mantle and responsibility of leadership from them when they step aside.
He urged Nwokeji to sustain the tempo and his commitment to the welfare of his members because it is their support and encouragement that will propel him to greater heights which he is destined to rise to at the fullness of time.
“I urge you to sustain the tempo and continuously be committed to the improved welfare of your members bearing in mind that the union needs people like you at a time like this.”
Comrade Nwokeji was accompanied on the visit by the Acting Chairman of SSANU Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) ,Comrade Branch, Eze Edward and Comrade Duru Franklin Uche,SSANU FUTO Branch Treasurer.
