– Commissions Ultra Modern State Of The Art Hospital At Umuowa, Orlu
Orlu United Medical Foundation, comprising seasoned medical personnel on Saturday January 4, 2025, organized free medical outreach where over one hundred patients with different health care issues were attended to and given necessary medications free of charge.
The outreach which was held in the premises of Merit College of Nursing Sciences, Umuowa, Orlu, in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State was well packaged as qualified medical personnel in different areas, including gynecologists, pediatricians, optometrists, among others, were on hand .to attend to them, while those who were diagnosed with secondary health care challenges were advised to seek medical attention in the appropriate hospitals.
The high point of the event was the official unveiling of the ultra modern Orlu United Hospital that boasts of world class equipment and facilities for the treatment of a wide range of ailments, including those for which most wealthy Nigerians often travel aboard for solutions. The hospital was officially unveiled by the Catholic Bishop of Orlu Diocese His Lordship, Bishop Anthony Ukwuoma, assisted by the Imo state Commissioner for Health,Dr. Prosper Ohayagha- Success.
Addressing journalists at the event, the Principal Partner, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr Mrs Obaji said, she was motivated to establish the hospital because of her passionate commitment to improved health care of Nigerians, especially those in the rural areas who cannot afford to travel overseas for the treatment of complicated health challenges. Hence the medical outreach that preceded the unveiling of the hospital was aimed at creating awareness and letting people know that there is a well equipped ultra modern hospital with world class facilities in the state.
Responding to a question, Dr Mrs Obaji said, various ailments including high blood pressure, cancer, diabetes, malaria eye problems, etc were attended to after all necessary screening had been conducted. They also left with customized bags of gifts and medications.
On the areas the hospital will cover, she said, “we have provision for telemedicine which involves doctors from different parts of the country using technology to link up with doctors on ground while attending to patients. There is also home medicine which was designed to give patients medical attention in the comfort of their homes, especially elderly people who have become weak and feeble that they cannot visit the hospital physically. Such people, if they can afford it, will have doctors, nurses and other medical personnel attend to them wherever they are.
