The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing has commended the management of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, (FUTO) for its honourary award of doctorate degree to the governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON.
The group through its leader, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu said that Uzodimma’s current award goes a long way to demonstrate the governor’s unusual competence in managing the affairs of Imo people over the past five years, and congratulates the university’s senate and governing council for recognising and rewarding excellence.
“The governor, over the years of his political career, has displayed an ingenious managerial skill, which has reflected positively on the lives of his Imo constituents and as well positioned the Southeast region in the political equation of the country. He has shown dedication, selflessness, creativity and courage, which are fundamental qualities that stand out every iconic leader in history.”
The group also urged other leaders and upcoming leaders in the Southeast, especially, and across Africa, to adopt Governor Uzodimma’s leadership styles as models for impactful and positive leadership.
“Governor Uzodimma, whom we earlier coronated as the Commander of Igbo youths, has continued to demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities that are worthy of emulation by current and upcoming leaders, and this award by the prestigious ivory tower affirms his sterling managerial capabilities in bringing out the best in human and material resources with every leadership position that he has occupied, but this is most accentuated by in his current position as the governor of Imo State, Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Chairman of the Southeast Governors’ Forum. We are proud of his attainments and shall not be ashamed of our continuous solidarity to him.”
