– Express Confidence In His Ability To Unit Party
Elders and Stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party under the auspices of Reformed Imo PDP Elders Forum has said that they are impressed with the recognition of Hon Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representative as the party’s apex leader in Imo State.
The leaders who stated this in a release signed by Chinedu Emenalo as Chairman, and Engr Harold Nwosu.
According to them, “the recognition is very timely in view of the numerous challenges that party has gone through for quite some time, pointing out that Ikenga’s emergence and his outspoken nature will enable him deploy his wealth of experience towards rebuilding the party, bringing back aggrieved members who left the party for various reasons.”
They expressed total confidence in Ikenga, adding that the party had almost become comatose when people like Chief Emeka Ihedioha pulled out with his supporters same with Udenwa and his supporters, the former Chairman Charles Ugwu, former Deputy Gov, Irona and many others who left the party with grudges.
They urged Ikenga Ugochinyere to use the well deserved position to reach out to all aggrieved leaders of the party with a view to making the party stronger, more formidable and capable of winning the next election, stating that what matters now is repositioning and making the party more vibrant and not who flies the party’s ticket in 2027.
“We are confident that if a person like Ikenga Ugochinyere who has what it takes to deliver in this regard takes the mantle of leadership, the glory of our party, the PDP will be restored. Hence, we pledge our unalloyed support and loyalty for him.”
They regretted that some persons who garnered votes and also won their cases at the tribunal lost at the Appeal Court, except Ikenga Ugochiyere who not only pursued his case to a logical conclusion in addition to securing the votes he got from the electorate. That makes him the kind of leader that Imo PDP needs at this point in time”.
