– Rejects Clandestine Plot To Acquire Property
Some Stakeholders in Orlu, under the auspices of Orlu Local Government Equity Forum have accused the former controversial Rector of Imo State Polytechnic, Umugwo, Rev Fr Wence Madu, who was Chairman of the Committee that looked into the school’s conversion from multi campus to single campus at Omuma in Oru East Local Government Area of recommending that the Orlu campus of the institution be relocated to Omuma because of his vested interest and the desire to acquire the school’s former premises for the Catholic Church. Hence he has been working relentlessly behind the scene to actualize his goal.
The group, in a release issued by Comrade Julius Onyedika, accused the former Rector of recommending that the school be relocated to Omuma, which is very far from Orlu, as a ploy to facilitate the acquisition of the vast expanse of land by the church which is his primary constituency.
They further stated that the Governor relocated the school because of the former Rector’s recommendation which was designed to hoodwink the state government and actualize his plan to the detriment of Orlu people.
