– Describes  Akaraonye’s Tenure, their actions  illegal

-Fraudulently Deceitful

The exchange of legal fireworks arising from the fraudulent sale of the Nigeria Union of Journalists( NUJ) Imo State Council’s Secretariat also known as the Press Center has finally ended in favour of the Comrade Precious Nwadike-led Imo NUJ.

When the matter came up yesterday at the Owerri High Court, the presiding Judge Hon Justice Ann Ononeze Madu, berated Chris Isiguzo,Chris Akaraonye, Juliet Dim of the Imo Broadcasting Corporation IBC and their cohorts for parading themselves as leaders of the union when the  leadership of the union is a subject of litigation at the National Industrial Court.

The learned Judge who described Akaraonye, Juliet Dim and all those involved in the sale of the secretariat as fraudulently deceitful persons, vacated the order she gave earlier on the ground that she did not know that the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council was being contested at the National Industrial Court, Owerri Division as at the time she gave the order.

She described Chris Akaraonye, Juliet Dim and all those involved in the fraudulent sale of the union’s property as impostors who have no locus to speak or engage in any transaction whatsoever on behalf of the NUJ. “Hence all that Chris Akaraonye and his purported executive did on behalf of the NUJ for the period they claimed to be in office are null and void and of no effect.”

Recall, that Chris Akaraonye, the dissident Chairman of Imo NUJ, connived with the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chris Isiguzo and other fraudulent persons to sell the Imo NUJ Secretariat to Enedo General Services that is alleged to be the proxy that the former Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha used to fraudulently acquire the property, without the knowledge and consent of Imo Journalists.

When the Comrade Precious Nwadike-led Imo NUJ got wind of the development they resisted it and promptly approached the Court to seek redress which culminated in the victorious judgment delivered yesterday by a High Court sitting in Owerri, presided over by Hon Justice Ann Ononeze-Madu.

Meanwhile,an executive of the Imo State Council of the Union who pleaded anonymity   has hinted the resolve by the Union to initiate criminal case against Akaraonye,Isiguzo,Nwaguma and others for vandalizing the NUJ secretariat and selling of some properties that belong to the Union. He said,we are taking inventory of all our properties. We have directed our Lawyer to initiate a criminal case that will land all of them in Prison for the injustice melted out on the Union”.
