The atmosphere was captivating and electrifying as the residents of Ezihe community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State trooped out in their numbers on Sunday, November 3, 2024, to congratulate and felicitate with their illustrious son, His Eminence, Archbishop (Amb) G.C. Lemchi, the Founder/General Overseer of Zion Mountain Bible Church, Int’l, His Eminence, Prof (Amb) G.C Lemchi JP, who was recently elevated to the position of Professor of Christian Education by Anuncia University and Theological Center, Aba, in Abia State.
The event which was attended by dignitaries from different parts of the world, including top businessmen, academics, frontline politicians and the clergy, showed that, contrary to the age-long dictum that a prophet is not respected in his land, Archbishop Prof G.C. Lemchi, is highly respected and revered in his community, as his kinsmen, including the leaders and stakeholders in the area trooped out en-masse to identify and celebrate with him. They, in their separate speeches described him as a worthy and illustrious son, who has on several occasions brought honour to the community through his achievements and accomplishments in different spheres of human endeavour.
Speaking at the occasion, Comrades Uzowuru Emeka Uzorma, Ndubuisi Matthew Okechukwu and Hon Nwiwu Edwin, as Coordinator, Vice Chairman and Secretary of Men of Good Heart Social Club, an umbrella body of progressive, industrious and responsible sons of Mbano Local Government Area extraction at home and in the Diaspora who are passionately committed to the socio-economic development of the area, passed a vote of implicit confidence in Archbishop Lemchi, who according to them, has by dint of hard work, patience and perseverance carved a niche for himself and made the community proud.
According to them, Archbishop Lemchi, is a progressive man who takes delight in helping others excel and be successful. He has contributed so much to the growth and sustenance of our club, hence we love, honour and hold him in very high esteem, not only as an Archbishop and Professor but because of his calm disposition and inclination to peace, justice, fairness and zero tolerance for shady and questionable transactions”.
Other respected dignitaries present at the event also extolled Prof Lemchi, who they described in their separate speeches as a rare gem, who God is using mightily to liberate humanity from the strangle hold of poverty sickness and disease through the teaching and application of the word of God in their lives and circumstance that come their way. They commended Prof Lemchi’s diligence and commitment to the things of God.
The Director of Anuncia University and Theological Center, His Most Emminence, Archbishop Prof Chiemela Nwosu, said, “Archbishop (Amb) G.C. Lemchi, obtained his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Anuncia University and Theological Center where he has also been teaching for many years before he was made a Professor after fulfilling all the necessary requirements. He is reliable, dependable and passionately committed to the acquisition of knowledge and the service of God and humanity. His ordination as an Archbishop and elevation to the position of Professor attest to the level he has attained in academics and the service of God. Hence Anuncia University and Theological Center proudly awarded him the certificate in recognition of his academic prowess in Christian Education where he is an authority.
Archbishop Prof Lemchi, in his speech thanked all those who came to felicitate with him for finding time to attend the event. He gave all the glory to God, pointing out that all he has achieved in life are through the grace of God who has always been his source of strength and inspiration.
He also thanked the management and staff of Anucia University for giving him the opportunity to learn and thereafter serve as a lecturer for many years before he became an Associate Professor and now a full fledged Professor. He promised to continue doing his best in the service of God and humanity for as long as God gives him the strength.
