-Wife Accuses Governor Of Masterminding His Abduction
In a viral video, the wife of the kidnapped said her husband was whisked away on Wednesday afternoon while they were at home.
She accused the Governor of Imo state of being behind the arrest because, according to her, the Governor, through his numerous aides, had been threatening the her husband with arrest.
She said, “Governor Hope Uzodinma has sent some men to take away my husband. They first took my husband’s driver and traced our house where they arrested my husband. Imo people, should anything happen to my husband, hold Governor Hope Uzodinma responsible.”
Ihekweme served as the Commissioner for Foreign Affairs during the first phase of the Shared Prosperity government of Senator Hope Uzodinma but later joined the Peter Obi’s Labour Party during the last general elections.
He was said to be on social media war with the government of Imo state where some media handlers of the Governor had responded to his several media publications on the affairs of the government.
At the time of filing this report,it was said that Ihekwueme was arrested in Abuja and flown to Imo state.It was not possible to ascertain the exact place he is locked up.
Recall that before now,a popular radio presenter,Chinonso Uba(Aka Nonsokwa) was arrested in Owerri and taken to Tiger base from where he was arraigned.Till date, Nonsonkwa is yet to be granted.
The police Spokesman in Imo, Henry Okoye, was yet to react to the news as at the time of filing this report.
