The entrance of Umuepe, Irette, Owerri  West Local Government Area born legal luminary and internationally acclaimed scholar, Dr Emeka Amanze into the Rebuild Imo Movement family has reportedly given more impetus to the organization and its zeal to transform the state, with a view to restoring its lost glory.

Dr Amanze, who has a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of lowa College of Engineering and a Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, contested for the Owerri West State Constituency seat in 2015.

Commenting on his decision to support and align completely with the Rebuild Imo Movement, and its vision of a progressive people-oriented Imo State of our collective dream, Dr Amanze, said, “I believe in the transformative ideals of the Rebuild Imo Movement, the seven months administration of Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha is a clear pointer to what he can do for Imo People. There is a lot of work to be done in bringing back accountability and governance that truly serves the people”, he said.

According to a source who pleaded anonymity, “Dr. Amanze’s deep roots in Owerri-West, coupled with his international exposure as a patent prosecutor and legal scholar, make him a critical asset to the movement. His work as Editor-in-Chief of the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Review (IPTLRev) and his scholarly contributions to the United States and comparative intellectual property law have earned him global recognition. Additionally, his frequent commentaries on world political and military history highlight his ability to address complex issues, making him a valuable voice in the Rebuild Imo fold.

The Rebuild Imo Movement, spearheaded by political leaders and technocrats committed to revitalizing the state, has gained momentum over the years. The addition of Dr. Amanze is expected to further bolster the movement’s influence, particularly in Owerri-West, where he has long been a respected figure.

With the coming elections on the horizon, the inclusion of such a seasoned individual is seen as a strategic move that will galvanize support for the movement in Owerri West and Imo State in general. Dr. Amanze’s track record of service and his desire for a better Imo are expected to inspire more solidarity for RIM, particularly in the diaspora, who have increasingly taken an interest in the state’s governance.

As Rebuild Imo continues to attract top talent, the movement has positioned itself as a formidable force, committed to driving the kind of progressive change Imo State urgently needs”.
