– Celebrates Abure’s Federal High Court Victory

The Imo State Labour Party has congratulated the national chairman of the party, Barr. Julius Abure as Federal High Court affirmed the authenticity of his position in Court yesterday, 8th of October, 2024.

Ihejiagwa said this at the commencement of the party’s federal constituency sensitisation tours which recorded huge turnout of over two thousand Owerri Federal Constituency party faithfuls who gathered to kick off the event at Hon. Tochukwu Okere’s Constituency Office in Owerri. 

Ihejiagwa extolled Abure for his unwavering courage in the face of leadership challenges, applauding him for his uncompromising stance in the constitution of the party.

He commended the Federal High Court for upholding justice and truth, stressing that this kind of judgement restores people’s confidence in the judiciary. 

The state chairman stated that the Sensitisation tour aims at clarifying certain issues in the party, inferring that every political party experiences turbulences and Labour party even as the most united, organized and formidable party in Nigeria is not an exception. 

He described Labour Party as a party that has leaders and followers of substance, insisting that LP is the only option to patriotic Nigerians who desire to rescue Nigeria from bedeviling leadership system. 

Ihejiagwa maintained that Barr. Abure is still the national chairman of the party, as such there is no vacancy in the leadership of the party and no leadership crisis of any sort rather the party is just experiencing ordinary brotherly misunderstanding which are being resolved in a family way. 

The party leaders took turns to address members at the tour. Speaking at the event, the Legal Adviser of the party, Barr. Emeka Ihejirika stated that labour party has a functional constitution which is respected by members of the party irrespective of any member’s position. 

He charged members of the party not to allow anybody to deceive them as there are rumours circulating about leadership tussles in the party at the national level, saying that Abure remains the national chairman of the party with Mr. Peter Obi, Governor Alex Otti and the elected officers of the party still committed members of the party. 

Ihejirika used the medium to express appreciation to Sen. Athan Achonu for his great investments and contributions in the party which he said has helped to stabilise the party.

Chief Chimee Nzeribe, the Director General (DG) of Athan Achonu Campaign Organization while addressing party faithfuls emphasized that the Labour Party is a powerful indivisible family where every member is united, patriotic and dedicated to the sustainability of the party.

He expressed hope in the party’s capacity to win elections in Imo and Nigeria, saying that the party will resolve every issue at the national level and urged every member to contribute their quota in building the party structures. 

He reinstated the LP Guber Candidate’s enormous commitment to the rebuilding of the party, hence has invested so much in the party and bent on staking the needful to achieve his good intentions for the party.

Acting Woman leader of the party, Princess Oleka expressed satisfaction at the turnout of women to the occasion, highlighting the indispensable roles women play in politics, while charging them to utilize their power, skills and abilities to move the party forward in their respective wards. 

She also emphasized that the party is united and advised every member to remain steadfast and work hard for the interest of the party, adding that she was able to attain such position in the party by dint of hard work not by disregarding authority figures.
