– How Chairmanship Candidate Became Running Mate
Tongues are wagging and things are at the verge of falling apart within the All Progressive Congress APC, in Ngor Okpalla Local Government Areas following unpalatable reports about how a local Government candidate and former SOLAD of the area who purchased the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms for the party primaries was schemed out by Mrs Ibekwe who he had proposed as his Vice in alliance with other political gladiators.
It was gathered that few weeks to the APC primaries, the former Sole Administrator of the Council Hon Kizito Onuoha who is now the Vice Chairman had chosen one Mrs Ibekwe, who is said to be a very beautiful woman, whose mother popularly known as “Madam so so so” was the APC State Women Leader, as her running mate not knowing that his decision to choose the said Mrs Ibekwe was the end of his ambition to become the Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpalla.
A reliable source who confided in this reporter, said, Mrs Ibekwe whose mother and two other siblings are appointees in the Uzodinma administration, reportedly used her contacts to substitute Kizito Onuoha’s name with hers, even when she did not purchase the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms.
“When Kizito got wind of the abnormal development and attempted to protest, he was warned by the powers that be to keep quiet and lick his wounds or his questionable activities as the SOLAD of Ngor Okpalla will be exposed. Hence, he kept quiet and gnashed his teeth quietly to avoid being hunted by his past”.
The source further disclosed that Kizito Onuoha, like many others became Sole Administrators of their respective LGAs because they were appointed monitors by Uzodinma to keep a tab on how party Chieftains disbursed the campaign funds they were given during the election.
“Onouha was among those appointed alongside Ifeanyi Oruh who later became their Coordinator.
The emergence of Mrs Mbakwe, as the Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpalla LGA, is causing problem in the area, as party chieftains are enraged because, aside being a political neophyte, who according to them does not have what it according to them does not have what it takes to preside over the affairs of the council, she is unknown to them and is not likely to relate with them.
Hence, her loyalty will not be to the party but to her family and those who imposed her in the people.
A party stalwart who pleaded anonymity said, “we know that Gov Uzodinma wants to succeed himself, just like former Governor Rochas Okorocha attempted but failed. That is why he is relying on these people he appointed to campaign for his anointed candidate. But we are watching and waiting for them”.
