Dorcas Foundation For Women and Girl Child, a Non-Governmental Organization that is at the forefront of propagating the rights and improved welfare of the girl child, has concluded plans to organize outreaches for some Girls Secondary Schools in the state. The theme of the Outreach according to a release signed by the Founder of the Foundation, Dorcas Samson Achi, is “Girls Vision for the future”.
She further stated that the outreach, which is a self development project that is aimed at enhancing the perceptive, mindset and outlook of the girl child from the onset will be held in Girls Secondary Schools in Orlu and Owerri zones, where the NGO will interact with young female students on some of the challenges they encounter while pursuing their dreams. This, she said, will enable the Foundation resource to enlighten educate and sensitize them with a view to helping them achieve their full potentials.
She emphasized that the NGO’s commitment towards investing and contributing to the girl child development is motivated by the confidence she has in the potentials of the girl child and the positive impact it will have, if channeled properly.
“The girl child, can change the world if empowered with education and relevant skills to become great innovators, achievers, political leaders, entrepreneurs, mobilizers and architects of development”.
She stated that the Foundation seeks to create a world of possibilities for women to uphold their rights in order to access more equitable and prosperous future to ensure equal participation of women and girls in nation building.
