The people of Amakohia Uratta autonomous community, in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state, have distanced and dissociated themselves from the proposed formation of Uratta Towns Union UTU.
The community, in a release signed by the traditional ruler, HRH, Eze Boniface C Chidindu and the President General, Chief Dr Tony Agumadu, called on the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the general public to ignore the plot which they described as the activities of few self seeking individuals who lack the legal or traditional mandate to register the union on behalf of the people.
The release which was made available to the press, reads, “Amakohia Uratta Autonomous Community in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State hereby disclaims the draft 2024 Uratta Towns Union (U.T.U) constitution and the intended registration of same with the Corporation Affairs Commission (C.A.C) by a group of individuals in Uratta Clan.
