The Imo State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Declan Emelumba, has expressed his satisfaction with the voting process in the recent local governments elections.
After casting his vote at his polling unit in Oru West Ward, Emelumba shared his thoughts with journalists, praising the seamless voting process and the massive turnout of the voters.
“The electorate’s massive turnout is impressive,” Emelumba said. “Voting commenced promptly with result sheets arriving on time. The atmosphere is peaceful, and I’m optimistic about APC’s victory given the overwhelming support.”
Emelumba attributed the success of the elections to Governor Hope Uzodimma’s leadership, saying, “Our governor’s commitment to democratic participation and good governance has resonated with the people.”
When asked about opposition parties’ involvement, Emelumba deferred to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saying, “I’m not in the best position to comment. However, I’m confident that all necessary stakeholders are involved.”
Emelumba thanked Oru West residents for their confidence in Governor Uzodimma’s leadership, evident in their high voter turnout. “Our local government has benefited greatly from the governor’s appointments, and this is their way of showing gratitude.”
He added, “As the largest local government in terms of government appointees, our people are enthusiastic about APC’s candidates and the governor’s vision for Imo State.”
The commissioner’s optimism was palpable as he encouraged voters to exercise their civic duty, saying, “Every vote counts, and I urge all eligible voters to participate in shaping the future of their local governments.”
The peaceful voting process and high voter turnout in Oru West Ward reflect the state’s commitment to democratic participation and good governance.
