The General Overseer of Zion Mountain Bible Church Int’l, His Eminence, Most Rev Dr (Amb) G C Lemchi JP, has been elevated to the position of Associate Professor of Christian Religious Studies by the prestigious Anucia Saving Life University and Theological Seminary, based in Abia State.
The university, in a letter dated July, 22, 2024, signed by the Chancellor, His Royal Eminence, Archbishop Prof Nwosu Chiemela, said, the honour is being conferred on Most Rev Dr Lemchi, in recognition of his academic achievements and enormous contributions to the growth, development and propagation of Christian education in the country and beyond. The formal investiture of Archbishop Lemchi will be conducted during an elaborate ceremony scheduled to hold on October, 12, 2024.
Commenting on the development while addressing journalists at the Sam Mbakwe airport, Owerri, on his way back from an international evangelism crusade, that took him to different parts of the world, the Professor designate, said, “it is the Lord’s doing and we give Him all the glory. As Christians, the Almighty God is our beacon of light and pillar of support. Whatever we achieve in life, is by His grace. However, such honour and recognition motivate and challenge one to strive harder, because, to whom much is given, much is expected”.
Responding to a question on the state of the nation, the world acclaimed man of God who is said to have liberated many from the bondage of sin, sickness, physical, spiritual and demonic oppression, through his prophetic spirit filled ministrations that are reportedly accompanied with impactful manifestations of the holy spirit, said, ^as a matter of fact, peaceful protests are lawful and legitimate ways of expressing grievances and drawing the attention of leaders at all levels to the ills of the society and needs of the people. But, what some of us are against, is the way hoodlums hijacked the process and used the opportunity to kill, maim, loot and destroy the properties of innocent people who are also suffering the same fate with them.
Nigeria is highly blessed. Our major problems are greed, mismanagement misplacement of priorities and unnecessary dependent on the western world for advice. The anti people policies that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund IMF compelled the Bola Tinubu led federal government to foist on Nigeria, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the floating and subsequent devaluation of the Naira are responsible for the socio economic woes that have enveloped the country and until they are reversed, Nigeria will continue to sink. Everybody in this country knows that things are very hard and the cost of living is very high. If these issues are not urgently addressed, there will be more protests, because, a hungry man, is an angry man. Government at all levels, should also focus on creating employment for our youths, so that they can be gainfully employed. This, will help in reducing the crime rate because, an idle mind, they say, is the devil’s workshop”
Most Rev Dr Lemchi commended the Supreme Court judgment that granted financial autonomy to Local government councils in the country, pointing out that the decision will bring governance and socio-economic development nearer to the grassroots. He also doffed his hat for the Governor, Dist Senator Hope Uzodinma, who he said is determined to conduct free, fair and credible local government elections, in line with the aspirations of Imo people.
He urged Nigerians to always put their faith in God and try as much as possible to be their brother’s keeper”.
