The member representing Orlu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Ikenna Ihezuo, seems to have developed a penchant for eliciting negative controversy that keeps him in the front burner of public discourse for the very wrong reasons.
Not long ago, Hon Ihezuo exchanged altercations with the Chairman of his party, the All Progress Congress APC, Chief Stanley Nwosu (Ochinanwata) over the latter’s allegation that Ihezuo, attempted to divert 65 bags of rice out of the quota allocated to Orlu the people of Orlu as palliative to cushion the effect of the prevailing hardship.
The alleged rice diversion episode which has continued to reverberate in different quarters, was also used by Ihezuo as a ploy to rope in the Publisher of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, Comrade Precious Nwadike who the latter desperately tried to arrest because his newspaper published reports of the allegations against them.
Shortly after that, Ihezuo, also called for the sack of the Chief Judge of Imo State, Hon Justice Theresa Chikeka, who he and his cohorts accused of age falsification.
A party source who does not want his name mentioned, said, “it is unfortunate that the Orlu lawmaker, Hon Ihezuo, seems to have resolved to continuously be the subject of negative controversy. This time around, he is quarrelling with his party over the aspiration of a person who intends to contest the forthcoming Chairmanship election in Orlu L.G.A”.
Ihezuo, in a letter dated 2nd August,2024, with the caption, “REJOINDER TO THE RECENTLY PUBLISHED PRESENTATION OF A CONSENSUS CANDIDIATE FOR EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF ORLU LGA IN THE FORTHCOMING LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS IN IMO STATE” which he addressed to the Governor said, “My attention has been drawn to the recently published presentation of a consensus Candidate for Executive Chairman Orlu LGA signed by one Dr. Emeka Enyinna and Engr Peter Okorie on behalf of Orlu APC leaders. This statement or resolution is shocking, embarrassing, misconceived and fraudulent. My name and signature were used in the fake, fraudulent and illegal publication, I have never attended or aware of any meetings where the leaders of Orlu APC endorsed or recommended Chief Henry Egwuatu
(Ozuomee) as a consensus Candidate, neither have I at any time endorsed, supported or recommended Chief Henry Egwuatu as a consensus Candidate of Orlu Chairmanship election. Chief Henry Egwuatu does not possess the intellectual and moral capacity to lead Orlu as the Executive Chairman.
This illegal publication is tinted with fraud and criminal activities of Mr. Stanley Nwosu, the embittered Chairman of APC Orlu who has a history of imposing names and signatures of leaders to publications without their knowledge of consent. You will also recall that on August 1, 2024, this unscrupulous Chairman of Orlu APC Mr, Stanley Nwosu lifted the names of leaders from attendance and burial lists and fraudulently published a resolution for the suspension
of myself and two prominent forerunners in the Chairmanship election Hon Anthony Okonkwo and Pastor Chris Mbarie. His intent was to clear the way for Chief Henry Egwuata who promised to pay him (Stanley Nwosu) a monthly salary of N2m per month if be wins the Chairmanship election.
I am therefore very worried that the Apex leader High Chief Canice Moore Nwachukwu has kept mute on what is happening in Orlu. It is either that he is in support of the illegal criminal activities of the party chairman Mr. Stanley Nwosu, or he is the one instigating him. I hereby call on our capable State Chairman Dr. Macdonald Ebere, and out God sent Governor to discountenance this illegal publication and endorsement and to also warn the so called Orlu leaders to desist
from such false and illegal endorsement which is contrary to His Excellency’s speech at Land mark events center yesterday. Consequent upon the above activities of Mr. Stanley Nwosu, I strongly recommend he be removed
immediately as the Party Chairman of suspended as the Chairman as it has become obvious that he will be biased in the conduct of the primaries in the Chairmanship and Councilors election in Orlu LGA.
