-Accuses Police Officer Of Trespass
A police officer, Inspector Umezuruike Fred Iroaku, has been accused of trespass, land grabbing, and threat to life ,which actions are capable of frustrating a medical project in Umuofocha Umedibia Nekede, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State.
The disputed land according to sources is intended for a state-of-the-art medical facility.
The landowners, Professor Bismarck Nwadike and his caretaker, Uchenna Uchegbu, claim that inspector Iroaku allegedly sold their land without their consent and has used his position to intimidate them.
Despite petitions filed with the police, Iroaku’s influence has allegedly hindered progress in the case.
The accused is also said to have filed counter-petitions and displayed his service firearms to intimidate those opposing him. The landowners have sought protection from the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 4 Umuahia and currently calling on the IGP for his prompt intervention.
The attempt meant to get the responses of Inspector Iroaku proves abortive as his phone number was unable to connect during the time of filling the report.
