The Rebuild Imo Movement in Okigwe zone has debunked reports in some quarters for a that it has concluded arrangement to defect to the APC as speculated by those they referred to as opportunistic elements.
Prof Obioma Iheduru, Zonal Coordinatory Rebuild Imo Movement in Okigwe zone, stated this in a release he issued, dated August, 28, 2024.
The released captioned, “MISINFORMATION AND CAMPAIGN OF CALUMNY AGAINST RIM”, reads, “consequent upon reports that certain opportunistic individuals in Okigwe zone have been reaching out to some of our members and feeding them with the falsehood that RIM, ably led by His Excellency, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha is headed for the All Progressive Congress (APC), it becomes imperative to clarify that the RIM, Okigwe zone has not mandated anyone to undertake this dastardly function.
Our members and the general public are hereby implored to dis countenance such mis-information which is the handiwork of desperate and stomach infrastructure politicians.
Our members should hereby note that the Rebuild Imo Movement leadership has decided to align and move into the Labour Party (LP) as the party of choice for Ndi Imo. What we await presently is the public declaration that will take place soon.
We therefore urge all our numerous members to remain calm, ignore the antics of enemies of progress in Okigwe and await further instructions from the Leadership of RIM through the Director General.
The Rebuild Imo Movement has found a comfortable political home in the Labour Party and through it we shall have good governance in Imo State once again”.
