Frontline politician, community leader and international business mogul, Chief Jerry Chukwueke (Ohamadike) has commended the Owerri Catholic Archdiocese for blazing the trail by setting up the Owerri Archdiocesan Security Services (OASS) to help in nipping the security challenges ravaging the state in the bud.

Chief Jerry Chukwueke, a product of the Lagos Business School, and Chairman of the occasion while narrating his experience at the prestigious Ivory tower, said, “I’m very grateful to Lagos Business School. This is the first module for us and our cohorts will move on to Yale University, USA in September and then to Strathmore Business School in Nairobi.” He described his sojourn as a great experience, adding that learning demands sharpening of ones leadership skills, knowledge and all other aspects of importance in driving success.

“My biggest takeaway is the great opportunity being offered by the Lekki Seaport. I think it is extraordinary sort of investment. The opportunities it offers for intra-African multi-trading in deploying the seas remains very remarkable.

“Look at what has happened (today) with Prof. Benedict Orama, the President/Chairman of Afreximbank. The insights were storming and astonishing. This is what leadership is all about. It is about expanding ones knowledge base. It is also learning how to expand the territories that we must be effective”.

With his passion for consistently seeking transformative strategies and devising methods of improving products and services, Chukwueke exhibits the dynamic process of achieving excellence within the professional, governance and administrative horizon.

Jerry Chukwueke, a former Vice Presidential candidate, Governorship aspirant, founder, Chief Executive of Germaine Group, of the Lekki Mega city, who was in 1984, voted the Most likely to succeed student at Morgan State University, Baltimore Graduate School in the United States of America, also expressed appreciation to the church for laudable and innovative church security architecture. He agreed with Archbishop that security is everyone’s business, and men of goodwill should help to make it succeed.

The Great Mobilizer, as fondly called who also emerged as top 100 black owned businesses in America in 1990 (Friendship Ford/Mercury), Culpeper Virginia Black Enterprises Magazine, and Founding Director of Food Concept Nigeria Limited (Owners of Chicken Republic) reminded the graduates that they are now the security ambassadors of the church of God and must live exemplary life. He said that the church will henceforth also be viewed in the way they conduct their duties, their track records, discipline, and the trust factor. He further said that they must avoid caustic statements to the public as the testimony of their conduct and perception will encourage others to join the group. 

Ohamadike of Owerri, further said that the initiative of the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri is also a private sector initiative and therefore a job creation venture that will gainfully employ our teeming unemployed youths in the state and beyond. He admonished the young Cadets of OASS to represent the church well because it will have a medium and longtime effect on the growth and development of the group. 

To the board of trustees of OASS, Chief Chukwueke urged them to ensure that the young men and women who are engaged are properly motivated  to do their work with dignity. 

His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma, ably represented by Chief Cosmos Iwu, secretary to the state government, expressed the governors appreciation of the model security architecture of church. He assured that the government will provide material support to church security services and to any other outfit purposed to bring peace and civility to the state. He also thanked Archbishop for his continued prayer for peace and unity in Imo State. 

In his opening speech, earlier, the Archbishop of the Owerri metropolitan see, Most Rev. Dr. Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, the Archbishop of Owerri Archdiocesea, said that the necessity for a well secured church environment can not be overemphasized, and the security of lives and properties within the church community is a collective responsibility he further said. The church, he said, is the microcosm of the larger society and must contribute its quota to the security umbrella of the state government. He called on men and women with the means, capacity, and expertise to support the church in this venture.

The event was graced by important, dignitaries including, Chief Cosmos Iwu, who stood in for governor Hope Uzodinma, Chief Jerry Chukwueke Ohamadike, the chairman of the occasion, Gen. SB Chikwe, Chief George Eguh, Dr. Livy Uzoukwu SAN, Chief Hon. Mrs. Ugochi Nnanna-Okoro, Chief Mrs. Pretty Emezie, Lady Chiaka, the representatives of the Nigeria Army and police force and the chief host Most Rev. Dr. Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji, the Archbishop of Owerri Archdiocesea, among others.
