– As SSANU President, Others Storm Owerri
The national president of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Comrade Mohammed Ibrahim, on Tuesday stormed the campus of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) for the union’s joint Joint Zonal Executive Council Meeting for South-East and South-south geopolitical zones.
According to a release issued by the chairman of SSANU FUTO Branch, Comrade Uchenna Nwokeji, FUTO will also be hosting Comrade Kenneth Njoku and Comrade Cheta Azuma, the national vice president for South-East and South-south respectively.
The joint zonal meeting, which commenced on Tuesday, August 13, according to Nwokeji, will last till Thursday, August 15.
The ending of the meeting will coincide with the 40th birthday celebration of the FUTO Branch chairman, Comrade Uchenna Nwokeji, who is also the president of Owerri Sports Club.
The memorable birthday event will be hosted at the Owerri Sports Club Mega Event Centre, New Owerri.
To ensure a successful meeting, it was gathered that the Vice Chancellor of the FUTO, Prof. Nnenna Oti, gave her support to SSANU members, who have ensured industrial peace and harmony since the tenure of the VC began about three years ago.
