Sequel to this development, the party and its aspirants have been in celebration mood.

However, while the APC is rejoicing, Stakeholders in Labour Party, are grudgingly accusing the party’s governorship candidate in the last election, Senator Athan Achonu of stampeding the party out of the contest.

They recalled how APC, used some mercenaries Labour Party compelled the national leadership of the party to dissolve the State Working Committee (SWC) a week to the House of Assembly election, abandoning the candidates.

This, according to him, left the candidates to their fate, confused and frustrated without any person to report or look up to for solution to challenges they faced”.

“It is my candid opinion that Labour Party’s decision not to participate in the Imo State local government council election, is synonymous with a footballer team scoring a goal against his team in a match”.

This reaction came up barely few days after it was reported that L.P, won with 2,200 votes in Bauchi where it did not field a candidate. Hence, the PDP candidate scored 2, 168 votes was declared winner of the election in Gusan Bogoro Ward.
