–      Speaks On Udenwa, Okorocha, Uzodinma’s Emergence

Chief Eddy Olumba (Mr E), a renowned grassroots mobilizer, erstwhile Special Adviser to former Governor Achike Udenwa, on Petroleum, a former Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, and current Chairman of Orlu Town Development Union,OTDU has taken a swipe at those insisting that Orlu zone should relinquish its hold on the governorship position of Imo State on the basis of the Imo Charter of Equity, having been on the saddle for almost 24 years.

Chief Olumba who aired his views in a release berated the sons and daughters of Orlu zone who are also advocating that it is the turn of Owerri or Okigwe zone to produce the next Governor of Imo State, come 2027.

The respected politician and community leader, who went memory lane, said, “I don’t really understand why any body from Orlu zone will be a part of this Equity stuff!! Those propagating the  charter of equity have mentioned how many years Orlu Zone has been in power, starting from His Excelency, Chief Achike Udenwa, as if it was given to then through the so called “Equity”? I remember vividly that during his Excelency Udenwa’s time, both Owerri and Okigwe zones participated fully in the race.

“Even when His Excelency Udenwa was declared winner of the then PDP ticket, Chief H. Anumudu of blessed memories and some other aspirants from both Owerri and Okigwe, never gave him a breathing space till the party insisted that he was the winner by even spread of 19 local governments out of 27.

“The same was applicable to His Excelency, Rochas Okoroch and His Excelency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma!

“There was never a time Equity was mentioned during these periods so why now? His Excellency Udenwa’s tenure, woke up Orlu People from their Political slumber and our eyes are wide open till “Thy Kingdom Come!” Power is not given but taken!!”.

He concluded by saying that in due time,Orlu zone will evaluate the whole development and take a stand, adding that no zone can box the zone into a corner.
