-Plotting To Buy Off Land
There was pandemonium at the business premises of Car Dealers Association Naze ,lmo State last Friday as the purported Interim Management Committee of the Association distrupted a meeting that was being presided over by the duly elected Chairman of the Association.
The disruption, News Men gathered was aided by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Illegal Motor Parks ,Hon Frank Onwumerre who came with 2 Hilux Vehicles carrying over 50 thugs to disperse the members of the association who were having their meeting peacefully just to ensure that the so called Interim Management Committee takes over the reins of power .
While maintaining that he was acting based on orders from above .
Speaking to News men who arrived the scene during the altercation ,a Car dealer who pleaded anonymity alleged that trouble started when the duly elected Executive members of the Car Dealers Association ably led by their Chairman,Comrade Epiphesus Amadi was
Presiding over a meeting when the purported interim Chairman ,Mr Andersen Anyiam and his co travellers distrupted the meeting insisting that they were the ones at the helm of affairs now and who are recognized by the present administration .
As announced over the radio recently by the Ministry of Trade Commerce and Investment at the instance of the Commissioner,Hon Barr Rex Anunobi ( Sokom)
Another source alleged that the current crisis rocking the Association was orchestrated by the duo of the Chief of Staff to the Governor of lmo State ,Hon Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie and Barr Rex Anunobi , the Commissioner ” we do not understand the undue interest of the Chief Of Staff and the Commissioner in our union which has been conducting it’s affairs peacefully before now .The current leadership is duly elected ,we voted them ,so they should be allowed to serve out their tenure unless the duo have a sinister motif or an axe to grind with the existing leadership which he maintained should have been resolved amicably.Rather than imposing a new leadership on us unceremoniously”
He also alleged that the Commissioner is middleling into and interfering with the internal affairs of the association including the conduct of its own election into its own offices and executive administrative positions. It will be recalled that the association has slated their election which would mark the end of the current administration on the 31st of July but the car dealers are alledging that the Commissioner wants to thwart it at all cost and as well impose their candidate.
Another Source who also spoke off camera argued that the control and regulation of markets situate in the state is vested in the Local Government Council having geographical jurisdiction over it.
Therefore,Hon Barr Rex and his ministry has no business to conduct any election or middle in the affairs of a registered association like theirs.” He fumed.
The anonymous Speaker also accused Hon Anyaehie for allegedly using his stooge Barr Rex to impose his kinsman,Mr Andersen Anyiam from Nkwerre who incidentally is the incumbent Vice Chairman of the Association on the group to lead the
newly constituted interim management committee knowing full well that their kinsman ,Mr Andersen who is vying for the Chairmanship of the Association will not clinch the position if election were to be conducted” little wonder he has been parading himself as the new Chairman of the association stating that with or without elections he would become the Chairman of the Association”
Moreover ,it was alleged that the duo have been making frantic efforts to grab the Naze Car dealers land but have met stiff opposition.
Hence ,the ploy to use their townsman Mr Anyiam in the guise to lead the association while he would see to it that they are relocated to AVU which would give them the leeway to grab the Naze Car dealers land for themselves. “,There is no gain saying the fact that Mr Andersen Anyiam is ready to be used for the hatchet job .
The Car Dealers lamented that it was a public show of highadedness and a smirk to the image of the present 3R administration which has zero tolerance for violence ,touting and gangsterism.
They unanimously beckoned on the lmo State Governor,His Excellency ,Senator Hope Uzodinma to intervene call his men the duo of Barr Anyaehie and Barr Rex Anunobi to order .” Their clandestine and clanish moves will not argur well for them and their cohorts,they should allow the current executive to serve out their tenure which will end in August ,they should desist from creating rift amongst their members .Divide and Rule will not work in Car Dealers Association ,Naze lmo State”
Meanwhile, all efforts to get the Chairman,Car dealers Association Naze Owerri to comment on the matter proved abortive
