Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria – The Rebuild Imo Movement, led by Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, is witnessing a significant surge in momentum as a wave of fresh defection hits the Imo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

On Thursday, the 4th of July 2024, the headquarters of the Rebuild Imo Movement in New Owerri witnessed a surge in activities as numerous leaders and party executives, numbering over 300, who resigned their membership of the PDP in the last 48 hours, declared their intention to join the Rebuild Imo Movement.

The Director General (DG) ,of the Rebuild Imo Movement,Dr Vin Udogwu warmly welcomed the defectors who have expressed their interest in joining the soaring movement. On behalf of the movement’s leader, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the DG assured the new members of their full integration into the fold.

Sir Stanley Ekezie, a key figure in the movement, urged everyone to embrace the spirit of rebuilding and maintain their focus on the mission at hand. Ekezie expressed his joy over the new additions, emphasizing the importance of unity and determination.

Prof. Obioma Iheduru, the Coordinator of the Rebuild Imo Movement in the Okigwe zone, shared his delight at the decision of numerous leaders to return to the Rebuild Imo fold. He praised their commitment and foresight in joining the movement at such a crucial time.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Prof. Darlington Akukwu declared their unwavering support for the Rebuild Imo Movement. Akukwu assured that the movement would soon feel the positive impact of the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area (LGA) in terms of mobilization and pledged the total commitment of all new members.

A prominent leader of the movement, Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu (Ikeoha), expressed his happiness at welcoming the new entrants. He reiterated his strong commitment to remain a dedicated member of the Rebuild Imo Movement and urged any concerned members to stay calm, citing the remarkable leadership of Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as a guiding force.

The event was attended by several prominent leaders from across the state, including Hon. Clifford Orjiako, Solomon Onwueghuchulam, Lawrence Biaduo, Chief Damian Ezeagu, Chief Richmond Osuji, Chief Mrs. Ann Njoku, Chief Henry Ekpe, Chief Ben Mere, Hon. Mrs. Ihuoma Njoku, Hon Lawrence Nwadike, Hon. Kelechi Duru, Nze Kennedy Chukwuonye, Hon Jasper Chukwuemeka, Hon. Pius Omah, Hon. Emeka Nwokeke, Hon. Chimex Onuoha, Chief Sambazz and Hon. Misheal Onuoha.

With these new defections and the growing support from various quarters, the Rebuild Imo Movement is poised to make significant strides in its mission to transform Imo State.
