– Chairs Graduation Ceremony Of Alma Mater
The Director General of O.G.I Comr. Chiemezie G. Ozurumba (ARIRI-ERIMBA) was on Sunday 21st July 2024 received AN AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST AWARD presented to him by the Catholic faithful of St. Mulumba Parish Owerri.
At the celebration of Holy Eucharist by the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Raymond K. Madu while delivering the homily charged all catholic faithful to always be good shepherd in their respective beats. He further described the awardees as great vessels of God who has worked tirelessly in making sure that Gods dwelling place remains the best.
In an interview, the Parish Planning committee chairman Hon. Patrick Okoro described the prestigious award given to Comr. Ozurumba as deserving in view of his outstanding contributions and support into the Lords vineyard so far. While charging him to do more as it always pays to work in Gods Dwelling place.
The Director of OGI Skill Acquisition Comr. Obinwa Augusta who, is also one of the awardees thanked God for the opportunity to serve Him together with the church of God for the acknowledgment and recognition for these service years as she promised to do more for the glory of God.
Comr. Ozurumba further stated that, “I see this award as a clarion call and re-ignition of my devotion to God Almighty; I hereby dedicate this award to my Alma mater (St. Jude’s Nursery and Primary school Amurie-Omanze) the school that groomed my early childhood as they celebrate their graduation ceremony today”.
He also thanked the parishioners for finding him worthy to be a beneficiary of such a prestigious award. “I will not forget” he posited.
The Owerri Zonal Coordinator Of Ohams Global Initiative Mr. Uchenna Njoku was among the Delegates who accompanied the O.G.I Director-General to the event while the likes of Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Chief Vincent Izuagba (Vinal Aluminum), Chief & Lolo Uzoma Anokwute, and many other Dignitaries were among the awardees .
In a related development, Comr Ozurumba also chaired the graduation ceremony of St. Jude’s Nursery and Primary School Amurie-Omanze same day. The event which witnessed the presence of parents, guardians, students, pupils and many distinguished guests within and outside Isu Local Government Area.
The O.G.I Director-General in his remarks expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity of coming back to chair the graduation ceremony of his Alma Mater. In his words “When Sister called to inform me about today’s occasion, though I tried to decline chairing the program but at some-point I summoned the courage, I know many may not understand why but for record purposes and those who don’t know; here few years ago, I was one of the pupils and today I’m being called upon to chair same graduation ceremony I was once a candidate. To me it’s a clearer picture about the transient nature of life; I give God all the glory!”.
The Occassion chairman while eulogizing the giant strides of the current school management charged the teachers to always make use of the teaching methods, techniques, lessons plan and set induction for effective results in their school curriculum/activities. He further made a cash donations and promise to get in contact with other alumnus for more developmental projects in the school in nearest future.
