A group known as Owerri Youths For good governance,OYFGG has called on Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, representing Owerri Senatorial zone in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, to as a matter of urgency tell them the particular party he belongs to because his public romance with All Progressive Congress APC, has not only become worrisome but has also cast a dent on the image of the people who are now mocked by other zones by virtue of the inconsistency of some of their representatives including Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi who they accuse of playing hide and seek.
The group, in a communiqué signed by Christian Njoku and Samuel Nnadozie, said, they don’t understand why Onyewuchi, who, was elected into the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, jumped ship when it dawned on him that the party, having endorsed Hon Uche Onyeagucha, will deny him the ticket for second tenure quickly joined Labour Party where he was given the ticket, and was subsequently elected into the Senate on the party’s platform, taking advantage of Peter Obi’s popularity.
“But to our greatest surprise, we recently saw Senator Onyewuchi’s name in a brochure that has gone viral, where his name was listed as one of the APC Senators that attend a high profile political event at Ebonyi State. We have made several unsuccessful efforts to reach him for clarification, on this issue. Hence, we decided to make it public”.
As Constituents, it is embarrassing that we cannot surely say the particular party our senator belongs”.
This, they said, portrays Owerri zone in very bad light, considering the fact that the people of Orlu zone can categorically say that Osita Izunaso, who represents them is of the APC. The people of Okigwe zone, can also firmly say that Patrick Ndubueze, also belongs to the APC, while the people of Owerri zone are presently confused about their representative, Senator Onyewuchi’s political affiliation.
“We therefore call on Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, to in the shortest possible time, tell us the party he presently belongs to, considering the fact that neither him nor his media aide has issued a release to question or protest the inclusion of his name in the afore-mentioned brochure of the event that held in Ebonyi State recently”.
Continuing, they said, “our concern is that, he and his media aides have questionably remain silent despite such serious issue of mistaken identity”.
