– Say, Accusation Against Nlemigbo Baseless, Unfounded
– As Rev Uche Nwole commends Uzodinma’s forthrightness
Sequel to a recent publication by a group of people who identified themselves as Mbaitoli South Political bloc, the Leaders of Mbaitoli Local Government Area from the three component blocks, have condemned in very strong terms, what they described as the baseless, misguided and unwarranted attack on a notable personality and apex leader of the All Progressive Congress APC, in Mbaitoli LGA, Chief Barr Marcellinus Nlemigbo, simply because he hosted a meeting where decisions aimed at ensuring peace, unity and mutual co-existence in line with the principles of equity, justice and fairness in the local government area were taken.
They described the accusation against Nlemigbo as a deliberate attempt to sow the seeds of discord that will be inimical to the collective interests of the area.
Speaking earlier, Distinguished Rev (Dr) Uche Nwole, a former member of the National Assembly and the oldest elected government official from Mbaitoli that is still alive, expressed dismay “at the way a good intentioned meeting that was convened to deliberate on how to chart a way forward, for the area in line with the principles of equity, justice and fairness, was misconstrued and falsely projected in the media, by some people who delight in heating up the polity and playing to the gallery in a bid to achieve their selfish interests”.
He commended the Governor, Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma for his vision, forth rightness and passion for due process, adding that the leaders of Mbaitoli LGA, are committed to the ideals of the 3R mantra.
Dist. Rev Dr Nwole, Founder, Christ Reconciliation Centre Int’l Church of God Ministry (CRC), further stated that, ^the leaders and stakeholders in Mbaitoli Local Government Area are determined to do what is right, fair and equitable not only for the purpose of ensuring lasting peace, unity and progress which political rivalry will undermine but also for the sake posterity.^
Speaking on behalf of the leaders, at a press conference, in Owerri, the State capital yesterday, Barr Kingsley Ononuju (Ekwedashike) stated that the Mbaitoli South block, lacks the moral right to cast aspersion on Chief Nlemigbo or falsely claim to be marginalized, when, aside producing the current Deputy Governor of the State, most of their sons and daughters had occupied top political offices including Transition Committee Chairman, Sole Administrators (SOLADs), State Legislators, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Commissioners, among others.
They wondered why the convener of the Mbaitoli South Political Leaders meeting, Chris Nwabia, who was the Sole Administrator of Mbaitoli LGA, under the leadership of the same Chief Nlemigbo that he is presently castigating should resort to such cheap blackmail.
