-Confirms Termination Of Ndikom’s Appointment As Traditional Prime Minister
The Council of Traditional Rulers in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, have confirmed and thrown their weight behind the termination of the appointment of Chief Dr Kyrian Ndikom, as the Traditional Prime Minister of Obi Mbieri autonomous community by His Royal Highness Eze (Dr) J.N. Osuji, the Traditional Ruler of Obi Mbieri, adding that the council is aware that Eze Osuji is sick but recuperating.
This was contained in a communiqué signed by His Royal Highness Eze Emma Saint George Eke, Ishi Ubom of Ubomiri autonomous community and His Royal Highness, Eze C.A.C. Eronini of Awo Mbieri autonomous community as Chairman and Secretary respectively.
The Monarchs, in the communiqué issued after a meeting they held at the palace of the Traditional Ruler of Ubomiri, Eze Emma Saint George Eke, on Sunday, June, 23, 2024, expressed dismay over the divisive actions, conduct and attitude of Chief Dr Kyrian Ndikom, which according to them, amounts to insubordination and gross disregard for the age-long cultural and traditional norms of Obi Mbieri community and its exalted traditional stool, which he (Ndikom) is clandestinely laying claim to without following due process.
The communiqué captioned, “COMMUNIQUE BY THE MBAITOLI TRADITIONAL RULERS COUNCIL”, reads, “This is to inform the general public that Mbaitoli Traditional Rulers Council in a meeting held on Sunday 23rd June, 2024 at the Palae of the Chairman HRH Eze Emma St. George Ekeh (Ishi-Ubom of Ishi-Ubomiri) resolved as follows:
That the Mbaitoli Traditional Rulers and the good people of Obi Mbieri are aware that HRH Eze (Dr) J.N Osuji, the Eze of Obi Mbieri has been away for some time now on grounds of ill health and that he is still alive and recuperating fast.
That HRH Eze (Dr) J.N Osuji has the absolute right to appoint whoever he wants as his Traditional Prime Minister (TPM) and in exercise of that right, owing to his interest and love for the advancement of the welfare of the people of Obi Mbieri, he appointed one Chief Kyrian Ndikom as the Traditional Prime Minister to enable him carry out some of his indispensable functions to the Obi Mbieri people, through the said Chief Kyrian Ndikom within this period of his absence.
That the Mbaitoli Traditional Council observed with dismay the act of Chief Kyrian Ndikom in laying claim to the stool and parading himself as the Eze Obi Mbieri, with gross disregard to the sanctity of the stool and in flagrant disrespect and dishonour to HRH Eze (Dr) J.N Osuji and the good people of Obi Mbieri. This act is completely unacceptable and condemned by the Council.
That the Mbaitoli Traditional Rulers Council are aware of the termination of the appointment of Chief Kyrian Ndikom as the Traditional Prime Minister of Obi Mbieri by HRH Eze (Dr) J.N Osuji owing to his dissident conducts and we are fully behind him on that action as the conduct of Chief Kyrian Ndikom is divisive and has the capacity to plunge Obi Mbieri into unbelievable break down of law and order.
That it is also a fact known to us that it is within the right of Eze (Dr) J.N. Osuji to remove any of his appointees if he finds the person not fit morally and intellectually to continue with the demands of his appointment.
That Mbaitoli Traditional Rulers are in continuous contact with our colleague Eze (Dr) J.N. Osuji both on phone calls and video calls and we are aware that nobody succeeds the Eze who is still alive and functional with his staff of office not yet withdrawn by Government and we earnestly expect the return of Eze (Dr) J.N. Osuji to continue his responsibility as the Eze of Obi Mbieri.
That verifiable information available to us is that the termination of the appointment of Chief Kyrian Ndikom as the Traditional Prime Minister of Obi Mbieri still stands and the Mbaitoli Traditional Council will only recognize any indigene of Obi Mbieri whom Eze (Dr) J.N. Osuji authorizes or appoints to be his Traditional Prime Minister.
That the appointment of Chief Kyrian Ndikom having been withdrawn and or terminated by his appointor Eze (Dr) J.N. Osuji, the Mbaitoli Traditional Council has no right or basis to recognize him or have any dealing with him in that capacity.
We urge the general public and the good people of Obi Mbieri to take note of this development.
A stitch in time saves nine”.
