Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, the apex socio-culture umbrella organization of youth in Orlu zone, has commended and expressed absolute confidence in the member, representing Ideato North and Ideato South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, who they said has offered quality, purposeful and effective representation that has already impacted on the people in barely one year.
The group which stated this in a release signed by Comrade Thaddeus Emejuru and Comrade Chidozie Aniebu, as National President and Publicity Secretary, respectively and made available to the press, over the weekend also felicitated with the lawmaker on the anniversary of his first one year in office.
They called on other state and federal legislators in the state to emulate Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere’s Impactful legislative style instead of being docile, inept and insensitive to the plight of their constituents and the state at large.
The youths also promised to mobilize over 5000 members across the 12 Local Government Areas of Orlu zone, to support the creation of Orlu State, which they said is not only over due but also in line with the wishes and aspirations of Imo State and the entire South East that is the only zone among the six geopolitical zones in the country that has 5 states, while others have six states each.
The release reads in part, “We wish to Commend the honourable member representing the good people of Ideato North and South federal constituency in the house of representatives, Abuja, Bar Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikegwuonu for attracting several life touching and people’s oriented projects in his federal constituency within this short period in office.
His legislative achievements are their for us all to see.
Meanwhile, our field workers in the two sister local government areas(made of our wards coordinator’s and LGA executives)has shown us both the projects so far executed and the ongoing one’s, we are very proud of him and are steadfast in our belief that more is on the way.
“It’s has being one year of superlative achievements and we urged him to keep the flag flying.
“On that note, we want to used this opportunity to inform him that our over five thousands membership across the 13 LGA, in Orlu senatorial district are in support of the proposal for Orlu state creation”.
Finally,the group hinted that they have concluded plans to engage all the Federal Lawmakers from the zone on grassroots development for the benefits of the rural dwellers who have suffered so much owing to the recent escalation of insecurity in the area.
They added that the era of our Lawmakers staying in Abuja and doing nothing for their constituents is gone.”They need to come home and feel the pulse of our people or better still,ascertain these facts from their domestic Aides who should be accessible to the people”.
