-Urges Imolites, Nigerians To Reject Plot For one-party System
The Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Imo State, Evang Anozie Udenwa has resigned his membership of the party.
Udenwa, in his letter of resignation dated, April, 22, 2024 stated that the party has lost steam, direction and the focus needed to provide desired leadership.
The Amaifeke, Orlu Local Government Area born former Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN, in Orlu zone, while fielding question from our correspondent on why he resigned, stated that, the former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and the National Secretary of the PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu(Samdaddy) are out to destroy the PDP and neutralize opposition ahead of 2027.
“It is known to virtually every person in Imo State and beyond that the APC is using some highly placed members of the PDP, including Wike, others to frustrate, weaken and destabilize the PDP.
As a leader in the party who does not want to mortgage his conscience, or be part of the conspiracy against Imo people and Nigerians the best option is for me to honorably resign my membership of the party.
Let me also use this opportunity to call on Imolites and Nigerians to resist the wicked plot by the leaders of the APC and their co-travelers to destroy the PDP and make it a toothless bull dog in a one-party state”.
He regretted that a serving Minister of the federal Republic of Nigeria had the effrontery to attend the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the PDP and was allowed to address members after all he did and said against the party before, during and after the 2023 election in the country.
“That, alone shows that the current leadership of the PDP are a bunch of compromised hypocrites who lack the capacity to actualize the dream, vision and mission of the PDP in the real sense of it”.
Anozie Udenwa’s letter of resignation captioned, “LETTER OF RESIGNATION AS THE PDP STATE YOUTH LEADER, IMO STATE”, which he copied to the leadership of the party at all levels reads, “I wish to inform you of my resignation as the Imo State Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This decision was arrived, after due consultations with my family, friends and my supporters across the globe and I decided that PDP as a vehicle is no longer convenient for me, our people and our supporters to provide and aspire for needed leadership we desire for the people.
I am grateful to the party for the opportunities to have served her”.
