The Imo State Head of Service Raymond Ucheoma, is said to be presently in the eye of the storm for allegedly marginalizing Orlu sons and daughters in the state civil service. Hence some leaders of the zone have vowed to ensure that he is replaced.
A source who does not want his name mentioned told this reporter that since Ucheoma’s assumption of office as Head of Service, he has deliberately frustrated, intimidated and marginalized civil servants from Orlu zone in preference for those from Okigwe zone whose career prospects he has continuously enhanced and fast tracked in different ways.
It was also alleged that Ucheoma has, in his desperation to suppress the career prospects of civil servants from Orlu and Owerri zones gone against civil service rules, procedure and guidelines.
“Sequel to the actions and inactions of the Head of Service which Orlu people consider distasteful and unacceptable some leaders of the zone have decided to take the bull by the horn, by pulling the necessary strings to counter his anti Orlu stance, conduct and attitude.
They have convened several meetings where they mapped out plans and strategies to curb the excesses of Barr Raymond Ucheoma, who they said has become arrogant, overbearing and discriminatory in the discharge of his duties”.
They further posited that Ucheoma’s tenure as Head of Service has expired because he has retired from service. “He should therefore vacate the office for another person possibly from Orlu zone to take over”.
“We have vowed to commenced action to ensure that Ucheoma vacates office for an Orlu man whose turn it is to take over”.
