...Flays Purported Inauguration Of Parallel Exco By Embattled Eze Ogbuji
The President-General of Obile Autonomous Community and Coordinator of President-Generals in Ohaji Egbema Council Area cum President-General of All the Town Unions President-Generals of the 658 autonomous communities in Imo State, Hon. Senior Apostle, Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka has called on the attention of the people of Obile Community and general public to disregard the purported inauguration of a parallel Town Union Executives by embattled Eze Abyssinia Colombus Ogbuji.
Recall that media outfits were awash sometime in 2022 on how Court 7 of Owerri Magistrate Court sacked Eze Abyssinia Colombus Ogbuji as traditional ruler of Obile Autonomous Community over a criminal case which he is currently challenging in a higher court.
This newspaper learnt that Abyssinia Colombus Ogbuji never left any stone unturned in ensuring that he regains his powers in Obile since his misfortune ouster by Owerri court,a situation that prompted him to appoint and orchestrated inauguration of his own line up Town Union Executive on 9th April,2024 whereas Hon. Omuruka led Executive’ tenure still reads.
Recall also that Eze Abyssinia Colombus Ogbuji faced series of petitions in Imo State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs sometime in 2021 which bothered on questionable manner with which he obtained Certificate of Recognition and Staff of Office, illegal appointment of one Mr. Harmony Eze as Obile PG to form a parallel Town Union Executives among other related alleged criminal reports against him, the embattled Monarch.
Omuruka narrated that his led tenure came on board in 2021 through election and would complete their 4years tenure in the next one year and six months.
Although,he stated that apart from being elected by their people, Government of Senator Hope Uzodimma gave them (PGs of Town Unions) a nod to continue piloting the affairs of their various communities and they can only step down whenever Government says otherwise.
“Our tenure is yet to be terminated by Government. And as elected Executives,we have not served out our tenure. So,we are in tact, This is not the first time Eze Ogbuji who was sacked by court in 2022 as someone without a certificate of recognition,parading himself as a traditional ruler is trying to inject crisis in our Community,but we believe in God”, Hon Omuruka said.
The President-General recalled with nostalgia, the high level of insecurity and deplorable conditions of Obile Community roads before his emergence and explained that through the efforts of his leadership in Obile Autonomous Community, they were able to attract Secondary School that is still functional, Health Centre that has reduced incessant death during child delivery in their Community as well as giving a hot chase to cultists within their area.
The community leader said that his led executives fixed some of the deplorable roads to their Community by dredging the whole entrances and exit routes around the Community so as to ensure that the people have a motorable way to convey their farm produce to the markets.
Speaking, the Youth Leader of Obile Autonomous Community, Comrade John Amaechi, explained that their Community was backward untill the leadership of Honorable Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka came on board.
According to him,”the peace and tranquility returned in Obile to the extent that some of the leaders in exile returned home and wondered how and why the traditional ruler Eze Ogbuji want to turn the place back to insecurity against the people wish and aspirations”.
Comrade Amaechi pointed out that the people of Obile Autonomous Community would have flame up in anarchy if not for the intervention of God as the issue of Town Union Executives and other related matters are pure community affairs and not for the traditional ruler to hand-pick his stooges and inaugurate them reiterating that the tenure of the substantive Town Unions Executive under the watch of Hon. Omuruka still runs.
He advised the people of Obile Autonomous Community to continue to be law abiding citizens as it is only Imo State Government recognized Hon. Kingsley Chigozie Omuruka as the President-General of all the President-Generals in the State and Governor Hope Uzodimma has not in any form announced the dissolutions of the Town Unions Executives in the State.
