-Wants Government To Investigate All Monarchs With Questionable Life Styles
Old Orlu Peoples Assembly (OOPA) a Diaspora group of like minds, has called for the dethronement, arrest and prosecution of the traditional rulers clamoring for the release of their colleague who was recently arrested and detained for his alleged involvement in kidnapping activities.
The Coordinator of the group Chief Kingsley Obioha called on Governor Uzodinma to as a matter of urgency, initiate the process of their dethronement, adding that it is disheartening that traditional rulers who should distance themselves from all kinds of unwholesome actions, conduct and attitude had the guts to plead for the release of their detained colleague after being told the enormity of the offence he allegedly committed.”We had expected them to allow police carry out their job.If he is not guilty of the offence,he should be let off the hook”.
This, according to the group, shows that they are either scared that, they may be implicated if the matter continues to linger or they have skeletons in their cupboards”.
Chief Obioha further stated that most of them who live aboard are scared of coming back home to live or invest their resources because of kidnapping and other criminal activities that have become rampant in the state and beyond.
“The arrest and detention of a traditional ruler for alleged involvement in kidnapping is an eye opener to all of us. Based on this, urge the Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodinma to screen all the traditional rulers in the state with a view to knowing their backgrounds and antecedents, because most of them seem to be wolves in sheep’s skin”.
