The Federal Government of Nigeria has appointed Dr Uzoma Friday Ibeaja as Acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, to replace Dr Christopher Onyemenonu, whose tenure as Acting Rector elapsed on March, 10, 2024.
A release signed by Nwosu E.B, and dated said, “The Federal government has appointed Dr. Ibeaja Uzoma Friday as the Acting Rector Polytechnic Nekede following the expiration of the tenure of Chemist Christopher Onyemenonu PhD whose acting Rector’s position expired on 10th of March, 2024.
In a letter Ref. DTE/Poly/1073/C.I/T/I/42 dated 22nd March, 2024, the Honourable Minister of Education appointed Dr. Ibeaja Uzoma Friday as the Acting Rector of the Institution with effect from March 11th 2024. He would remain the Acting Rector pending the appointment of a substantive Rector in line with the Polytechnic Act as amended.
Dr Uzoma Friday Ibeaja, prior to his appointment as Acting Rector, was the Deputy Rector (Administration) of the Institution. He had also served the Polytechnic at different capacities, majorly among them include: Dean, School of Business and Management Technology (SBMT) and Director of Evening Programme. Also, he was Chairman of Academic Staff Union of the Polytechnic (ASUP) Nekede Polytechnic chapter from 2012 to 2016”.
