A renowned Journalist and staff of Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper, Dorcas Samson Achi will on Sunday, March, 24, launch her first literary work, titled “The Survivor” and unveil her Foundation for Women And Girl Child.
The event which will take place at the Gold Crown Hotel Resort and Suites opposite Concord Junction, Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, Imo State, promises to be grand.
The intellectual event will be chaired by the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Imo State, Prof. Francis Dike (SAN).
The book which addresses some of the challenges faced by Nigerian youths in their quest for education, employment, empowerment, enabling environment and accessing the basic needs of life, will be reviewed by Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma, a University Don, prolific writer, Public Affairs Analyst and author of many books and a public Affairs Analyst.
According to the author, the novel is a must read for every patriotic Nigerian who genuinely seeks the betterment of the country because it upholds the tenets of hard work and integrity amidst frustrating political and socio-economic systems in Nigeria and exposes the hostilities and vulnerabilities of the “ordinary people”, while also giving hope of a bright future for the Nigerian Youths who have remained focused, passionate, hardworking, determined and committed to achieving their goals against all odds.
According to the author, “The Survivor” is how she chose to further express her concerns on the failure of governance in Nigeria, with the aim of causing a positive change in our leadership system and also achieve a country devoid of hardship, insecurity, unemployment and retrogression.
Dorcas Achi will also unveil her Foundation for Women And Girl Child, an Initiative which is committed to building a society free from abuses and prejudice against girl child and women, using strategic tools of advocacy, education, empowerment and engagement to ensure peace, progress and equal participation of women and girls in nation building.
Dorcas Samson Achi, further stated that, the Foundation envisions creating a world of possibilities where women and girls shall maximize their full potentials and achieve their dreams unhindered.
The author invites Imolites to the event which promises to be educative and insightful, while positing that the foundation shall roll out her programs that will impact the new generation.
