– As Group Calls For Her Arrest, Prosecution
The Public Relation Officer of the Local Government Service Commission in Imo State Unegbu Chimaobi Michael who was assaulted and beaten to stupor by Precious Izuogu, at the instance of his mother, Mrs Roseline Izuogu, the controversial Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, has revealed why he decided not to take legal action against them for the physical, psychological and emotional trauma they subjected him to without any justifiable reason.
Unegbu Chimaobi who spoke to our reporter recently, said he decided to leave the matter for God who dispenses justice at the right time because he is an only son who does not have any person to shield him from such strong and powerful people who believe that they can do anything and get away with it.
“Besides it was obvious that the woman and her son wanted to kill me and if they had succeeded, that would have been the end of the story because they have all the contacts and can deploy all kinds of propaganda to cover their track”.
Meanwhile, a group known as Imolites For Good Governance IFGG, has called on the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma to relieve Mrs Izuogu of her position because of what they described as her unruly and uncivil conduct and attitude that could have led to the death of an innocent person.
The group, in a release signed by Chukwuma Nnadi, said “such queer and ugly conduct by a top government official who should be an epitome of civility and decency should not be swept under the carpet because the victim does not have any person to speak for him”.
The group expressed surprise that, “rather than apologize for her arrogance and unruly conduct of her son who also doubles as her Personal Assistant, she went to court to seek non-existent redress”.
He urged the police to as a matter of urgency arrest and prosecute her because there is no need waiting for a formal complaint.
Recall, that Mrs Roseline Izuogu as the plaintiff, recently instituted Suit No, How/1317/2023 against two Imo based Newspapers for reporting how her son, Precious Izuogu, who doubles as her Personal Assistant and also presides over the affairs of her office in her absence beat up the Public Relations Officer of the Commission, Unaegbu Chimaobi Micheal to stupor, for refusing to carry his mother’s hand bag after church service at Dunamis Church Int’l located along Port Harcourt Road, Owerri, the Imo State capital.
“It was gathered that, Roseline Izuogu, whose refusal to vacate office as the Permanent Secretary of Local Government Service Commission several years after she retired from service generated tension, reportedly told her son, Precious that the PRO insulted her after church service. Based on this, her son recruited some thugs with whom he beat and humiliated the PRO, while her police orderly sprayed tear gas on the hapless victim.
According to eye witness account, “trouble started when Mrs Izuogu told the Public Relations Officer of the Local Government Service Commission, Unegbu Chimaobi to carry her bag and he refused to do so. Angered by the development, which she considered insulting, Izuogu told her son who also doubles as her Personal Assistant to beat u the Public Relations Officer”.
A source in one of the Local Government Councils, who pleaded anonymity, was quoted as saying that, Mrs Izuogu has been bragging that she would use every means at her disposal to ensure that the Newspaper outfits are shut down for daring to expose her alleged atrocities.
