Chief Jerry Chukwueke, (Ohamadike of Owerri) a political heavy weight and business mogul, has commended his brother-in-law Prof Bath Nnaji and his wife for their contribution towards the successful commissioning of the much needed Independent Power Production IPP, which had been in the pipleline for the past 20 years.
Chukwueke, the Awaka, Owerri North Local Government Area born international businessman, who stated this in a release he issued on behalf of the entire Chukwueke family from his Ikoyi, Lagos residence, also congratulated the Vice President of Nigeria, Kassim Shettima, who represented President Bola Tinubu, and the five Governors for South east for making the project and the “Light up South east project in Enugu, a reality.
Chukwueke, further said that the pivotal role of Geometric Power as the first ever Independent power company with a capacity of 181 mega watts of electricity generation, distribution and metering in Nigeria, goes a long way to reaffirm Igbos as the pacesetter in the project Nigeria.
This transformational project, he further said, is in the vision of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for a southeast regional economic development plan and serves as a catalyst for foreign investment, and job creation for our teeming unemployed youths and women. The statement concluded.
It’s, however, worthy of note that Dr. Mrs. Agatha Nnaji nee Chukwueke, wife of Prof. Nnaji, and a director in Geometric Power, is the first daughter of Sir. VO Chukwueke, former Chief Agricultural officer in the defunct East Central State and later became the Director Eastern Palm Produce.
