-Laments Lack Of Infrastructure In Area
Orlu zone has finally broken its silence on the contentious issue of Imo Charter of Equity that has dominated political discourse in the state for sometime now.
Speaking to newsmen yesterday, in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the National President of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, Comrade Thaddeus Emejuru stated that the issue of Charter of Equity should not be left for few individuals with vested interest to discuss on behalf of the generality of the people.
He stated that Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, as the apex umbrella organization of youths in the 12 Local Government Areas of Orlu zone, will, in due time, convene a meeting of stakeholders to discuss the issue of Charter of Equity with a view to taking a stand that will be favouarble and beneficial to Orlu zone and Imo State at large.
“It is a very sensitive issue that should not be left for few self-serving individuals to discuss or handle on behalf of Orlu zone and her people, who, aside the issue, have a number of other challenges that need urgent attention, including under development, insecurity, marginalization and infrastructural decay, among others. These issues, will dominate the discussion at the meeting that will be convened in no distant time”.
Emejuru, called on other zones to be calm and avoid heating up the polity, adding that presently, what is of utmost concern is to ensure that the Governor delivers on his promises to Imo people who gave him their mandate.
