A sociocultural and political organization of Ngor Okpala sons and daughters in Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo State, under the auspices of the Ngor Okpala Renaissance League, has honoured one of their own, Barr. Ngozi Olehi on his recent elevation to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), describing the honour as well-deserved.
The group, at an event held in honour of the legal silk last Sunday in Owerri, the Imo State capital, the group described Olehi’s elevation as a mark of excellence and hardwork, noting that he had distinguished himself as an advocate and solicitor, and as a legal scholar.
The people who pride themselves as a proud and hardworking people, said the honour was a celebration of hardwork as a way of life.
The leader of the group, Dr. Ibe Nwoko, who was represented by Mr. James Okere, and Barr. Amako, disclosed that the group honoured Barr. Olehi, to encourage him to soar higher.
“We have long since taken note of and recognized your excellent knowledge of the law, your consummate advocacy skills as a legal practitioner as well as your love for human rights and desire to ensure that such rights are respected following the work you have done for the growth of the law and the society.
“Barr. Olehi is an astute legal practitioner based in Owerri, the Imo State capital. Your rise to the present enviable level is oiled by hard work and forthrightness.
“Despite the huddles across, you focused on the future with hope, and hope has given to you your heart desire. We’re so happy that at this official recognition and affirmation of what we have always known –that you stand among the best lawyers in Nigeria despite practicing in Owerri. This only shows that a star has no hiding place”, Okere said.
In a new age where the youth’s desire for success and wealth acquisition is tied to quick and manipulative lifestyle as against hard work and virtues, the Ngor Okpala Renaissance League, is of the belief that the story of Barr. Olehi should be a turning point for the youth who seek for success in their chosen careers.
As a way of sowing a deep rooted memory for the occasion, the group presented a Life Portrait of the celebrant to him.
The group extolled him as he has created a path of success for younger lawyers from Ngor Okpala, and beyond, upholding the Ngor Okpala spirit of truth and uprightness.
