Following the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra,IPOB by the Federal Government of Nigeria,some members of the group in Isu Local Government area of Imo State have gone into hidding to evade arrest or being killed Nigerian troops.
It was gathered that among those involved in IPOB activities who have been declared wanted by the Imo State police is Mr Cosmos Chimezie Uzoegbu,an indigene of Umundapia Autonomous community in Umuezealaibe,Isu Local Government area of Imo state.
Uzoegbu who was among the Leaders of the group was specifically singled out for arrest in view of his involvement.
A visit to the Traditional Ruler of the Community ,HRH Eze BC Osuala,by this reporter,the Monarch explained that he knows nothing about the whereabout of Uzoegbu.
According to step brother to Mr Chimezie Mr Munachi Uzoegbu who reported the matter to Nigeria Police on the 15th of December 2023 the traditional ruler was mandated to produce Mr Cosmos Chimezie Uzoegbu,of which he insisted that he is unaware of where Uzoegbu is.
At present,the Imo State Police and other Sister security agencies are keeping survilance on Uzoegbu’s Home since after the Police issued the directive.
Further investigation revealed that Uzoegbu ran out of Nigeria Since 2022 when the activities of the IPOB was on the increase and also when the Federal government of Nigeria proscribed the said group.
