The matter instituted by the Comrade Precious Nwadike-led Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council to counter the plot by some unscrupulous elements to fraudulently sell the union’s multi-million naira secretariat located along Port Harcourt Road, Owerri comes up today at the High Court 4, Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The man behind Anedo General Services, the company that the former Governor, of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, allegedly used as a front to acquire the secretariat, was seen at a hotel in Owerri, early last week dolling out money to some fraudulent dissidents who have reportedly resorted to begging money from politicians to cause trouble in the union.
Recall, that, Okorocha’s proxy, Anedo General Services, that worked in synergy with the Chris Akaranoye-led faction of Imo NUJ, had secured a fraudulent judgment against Akaranoye and his group, that, he be allowed to possess the Imo NUJ property he claimed to have bought, when in the actual fact, there was a subsisting case at the National Industrial Court, Owerri, about the leadership tussle in the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Imo State Council. The case, makes any transaction entered into by Akaranoye or any member of his purported executive on behalf of Imo NUJ null and void and of no effect.
