Few days after the people of the state were ambushed and their mandate hijacked by election riggers, the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu will be addressing his supporters soon.
Recall that Imo people came out en masse to cast their votes for the PDP and its candidates on Saturday, November 11, 2023, regrettably, the mandate genuinely given to the party was stolen by enemies of the state under the watch of security agencies.
Both Anyanwu and his Deputy, Rt Hon Jones Onyereri were attacked by thugs suspected to be loyal to the candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election. While the duo survived the attacks, their convoy vehicles were vandalized beyond measure, and some of their Aides wounded.
This attack on our candidates affected their earlier resolve to address supporters few days after the election. So far, our candidates are still studying and reviewing results that were purportedly announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), once that is completed, our candidates will address the people on the wayforward.
Against this unforseen circumstances, Anyanwu had earlier appealed to Imo people to remain calm and law abiding until justice is done.
