– Insists: Gov As Performed Creditably, Deserves Re-election
Prince Alex Mbata, who contested for the Imo East Senatorial seat (Owerri Zone in the National Assembly) on the platform of the All Progressive Congress APC in the February, 25, 2023 National Assembly election, has endorsed the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma’s second term ambition.
Prince Mbata, while addressing media executives at his residence in Owerri on Friday, said “Uzodinma, aside being a visionary leader with the requisite capacity to deliver, has recorded monumental achievements in his first tenure. Hence, his mandate should be renewed despite the orchestrated Imo Charter of Equity”.
Mbata, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of ABM Global Group of Companies listed Uzodinma’s achievements, which according to him, include the construction of quality roads, empowerment of youths, regular payment of salaries among others.
According to him, “Governor Uzodinma is a visionary leader and a humanitarian who is passionately committed to the socio-economic development of Imo State. He constructed the Owerri-Okigwe road, Owerri-Orlu road, the Sam Mbakwe airport road that were abandoned by previous administrations in the state despite enormous challenges.
Continuing he said, “let’s not be emotional. Let us not say he is my brother, or my uncle. What is important is delivering the dividends of democracy. We need visionary leaders, we need a man who understands the terrain, we need a man that loves his people, a man that is humanitarian, a man who cares for his people. And I cannot discuss any other person than Senator Hope Uzodinma.
“I decided to share my views with media executives in the state. For you to understand that it is not just to sell your news, it is to help humanity as well through your news. I want you to disseminate this information to our people. Tell the people what they want to hear and what is it that they want to hear? They want to hear that Senator Uzodinma is the only candidate that has the capacity.
“The only outstanding candidate we have in this state now is Senator Hope Uzodinma. We are talking about capacity, we are talking about visionary leadership. We are talking about humanitarianism. You heard a few days ago that he distributed computers to youths. This is humanitarianism, the youths had finished their studies and he decided to help them, knowing that technology is the in-thing now.
“I’m not doing this because I am a member of the APC. I am doing it because I am from Imo State. We have to give him the necessary support to complete his eight years. You have seen the quality job on Owerri-Mbaise-Umuahia road, look at the Owerri-Okigwe road, the road was impassable before. What of Owerri-Orlu Road? We have been in this state. There was a time we were told of acidic rain. We are all lettered. Let’s not deceive people. Those on the other side do not know what is going on. It is through your information that they will know”.
He urged Imo people to vote en-masse for Governor Uzodinma, adding that some of his opponents are only playing to the gallery to raise funds to enable them “meet up”.
