– Agents Of Mischief, Toiling In Vain
The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP for the November, 11, 2023 election in Imo State, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, has said that he will not condescend to the level of quarrelling with his brothers from Owerri zone who are contesting the election with him, despite the clandestine manipulations of mischief makers to cause disaffection among them.
Senator Anyanwu stated this in a press statement issued by the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Campaign Organization.
The statement dated October, 12, 2023 and signed by the organization’s Director, Media and Publicity, Ikenna Onuoha reads, “The Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Campaign Organization in Imo State, on behalf of its candidate, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu, the National Secretary of PDP has uncovered plot by mischief makers to cause political disharmony against Owerri zone candidates, who are contesting the same position with him.
Credible information obtained revealed that members of the All Progress Congress, APC in the state allegedly led by the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba are behind this plot. Their motive is to fraudulently concoct provocative articles against our candidate and criminally tag same to one of the Governorship hopefuls from Owerri zone, Lincoln Keonyemere Jack Ogunewe with a view to creating disaffection amongst Owerri zone brothers.
To perfect this hatchet job, these disgruntled elements conjured a provocative article titled, “Monumental disgrace awaits you Nov 11, Ogunewe blasts SamDaddy” claiming that our candidate purportedly sponsored a reported blackmail against him, (Ogunewe) few days ago.
To be candid, our candidate as a matured gentleman with good temprament will not stoop so low to blackmail anyone thereby leaving behind, the ongoing issue based campaign aimed at defeating the embattled Governor Uzodinma and his outgoing administration.
Our candidate understands that Imo people have only one enemy and not his brother, Lincoln Ogunewe. He will not be deterred by these cheap blackmails and mischievious stories. What he is interested in is to secure the state from the stranglehold of the vicious APC administration and thereafter, make Imo Safe Again!
The question is; of what benefit will it be to our candidate if any of his brothers contesting same seat with him is maligned, impugned or blackmailed? The truth of the matter is that, Senator Anyanwu does not have such time to dwell on frivolities against his brothers when Imo people have carefully identified a common enemy of the state.
Our advise to these mischief makers is to turn a new leaf, embrace the people, be law abiding and remain patriotic to the state”.
