– Appoints Him Deputy Director, Uzodinma Campaign Organization
Several unfolding issues are said to have given credence to speculations in several quarters that Fabian Ihekweme, a former Commissioner in Governor Hope Uzodinma’s cabinet was a mole planted in Labour Party to destabilize the party and derail the focus of its candidates.
The most recent is his appointment as a Director in Uzodinma’s campaign organization.
A Chieftain of Labour Party who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said, “it is now very clear that Ihekweme, whose name is number 18 in the list of members of the Governor’s campaign team as Deputy director of Strategy,mobilization and monitoring , was a mercenary in Labour Party. That was why, shortly after Chief Martin Agbaso, was appointed the Director General, Peter Obi Campaign Council in Imo State Ihekweme, unilaterally appointed himself, Chairman of Big Tent, a position he used to create confusion, rancor and acrimony among the rank and file of the party with the aim of weakening its base to the advantage of his principal.
It has also become very clear that his orchestrated stage managed resignation from Uzodinma’s cabinet was a smoke screen that was designed to hoodwink people and divert their attention from the unfolding reality (his closeness with Uzodinma).
Another source who does not want his name in print, described Ihekweme’s resignation from Uzodinma’s cabinet as a ploy to give the impression that they had parted ways while he was in actual fact, hugely funded to perform under cover hatchet jobs to ensure the actualization of Governor Uzodinma’s ill-fated second term ambition”.
Recall that Ihekweme had in his celebrated resignation from Uzodinma’s cabinet, accused him of sundry offences and vowed that he would never have anything do with the Governor politically.
