The Senator Athan Achonu Campaign Organization has postponed the campaign rally earlier scheduled to hold in Owerri West Local Government Area on Wednesday, September, 30.
A release issued to that effect by Chibuikem Diala, Director, Media and Publicity stated that, “the postponement is in honour of the slain officers of the Nigerian Army, Police, Civil Defence etc, who were brutally murdered along Umualumaku Road, in Ehim Mbano Local Government Area on Tuesday, September, 19.
The release further stated that, “As a responsible political party, we pride in the sanctity of life which every Nigerian deserves including all security personnel who risk their lives in service of humanity. Hence our decision to postpone the rally.
All party members are encouraged to use this opportunity to pray for peace and unity in our dear state.
A new date will be communicated in due course”.
