Throughout history, the awakening, advocacy and movement of the people against an existing status quo has ultimately led to great, drastic and monumental changes in many societies. The French revolution of 1789 -1799 was the most significant movement of the people in modern European history that helped to shape the structure and relationship between the people and governments of France, Western Europe and some other countries of the world.
It marked the end of absolute monarchy in France and led to the process of democratisation of governance in many European nations. Consequently, it empowered many people all over the world to express their power to ‘choose’ the type of government and individuals to preside over their affairs.
As the good people of Imo State brace up for the upcoming governorship election on November 11,2023, the manifestly competent candidate of the Accord party, Ikenga Jonjude Okere has advocated that the people to be allowed to choose and work with the right man in order to bring about the needed change that will lead to growth and development of our dear state.
The Ngor Okpala born governorship hopeful made this call in a post on his Facebook page of July 18, 2023 in a short but insightful video clip. He further charged the people to be courageous and not be faint hearted, adding that believing in their action and power to choose will ultimately swing the pendulum of victory to their side.
It’s important to state as a reminder, that the strong willed and politically untainted Ikenga Johnjude Okere of the Accord party has emerged as the likely man to beat in the upcoming governorship election in Imo State due to many factors such as equity, competence, freshness of ideas, integrity, zero political baggage and the enormous goodwill of the people that is linked to his integrity, unblemished track record commitment to quality service delivery.
